CPA Preview Concert on Februrary, 23rd Februrary 14th, 2023On Thursday, February 23rd at 6pm in the CHS Auditorium, the WMS 8th Grade Honor Band will performing their Concert Performance Assessment (CPA) program, followed by the Columbia Central Wind Ensemble.
Our band will perform our two prepared pieces and receive verbal/written comments from a panel of adjudicators, just like at our CPA performance scheduled on Friday, March 10th at MTSU. The All County Honor Band is made up of select 7th & 8th Grade band students from middle schools across Maury County. The honor band will meet for the first time on Thursday night & all will rehearse all day Friday with our guest Clinician Ms. Ila Nicholson. The All County Honor band will then give a concert at 6pm in the CHS Auditorium on Friday, February 3rd, barely 24 hours after meeting for the first time! We are proud to share that WMS has over 45 students that were selected to be a part of this year's All-County Honor Band. Dollywood Trip Information February 10th, 2022We are excited to share information about our upcoming 7th & 8th Grade Band Trip to Dollywood. Any students (and parent chaperones) interested need to turn-in the Dollywood Interest Form which is due by Thursday, Februrary 17th. Both the Interest Form and a Trip Flyer were sent home with students and via Remind this week.

MCPS Closed Rest of School Year April 15th, 2020In accordance with Governor Bill Lee's recommendation and our local government and school leadership, Maury County Public Schools will be closed through the rest of the school year.
As a result, all WMS Band events are cancelled through the end of May. This includes the WMS Jazzfest, & the May Concert. Maury County Public Schools Closed: Solo & Ensemble and March Concerts are Cancelled March 16th, 2020In accordance with Governor Bill Lee's recommendation and our local government and school leadership, Maury County Public Schools will be closed effective immediately. We tentatively plan to resume on Monday, April 13.
As a result, Solo and Ensemble that was scheduled for this Saturday is cancelled. Also, our 6th Grade Band Concert on March 24th will be cancelled. The 6th grade band will perform these songs along with their new music on their May concert. 2020 All Maury County Honor Band Clinic will begin on Friday February 6th, 2020
Due to school closure because of flooding, the 2020 All Maury County Honor Band Clinic will begin Tomorrow (Fri. February 7th). Rehearsal and registration on Thursday is canceled.
We will hand out shirts and name tags tomorrow morning during the day. Make sure to bring all concert clothes and All County Music to school tomorrow.
