6th Grade Band
The 6th grade band consists of first year band students. The goal of the 6th grade band is to teach students basic music fundamentals.
Concert Band
Concert band is an intermediate ensemble consisting of 7th and 8th grade band students that have displayed a growing level of musicianship and leadership in their regular band classes. Students that are selected to be in the honor band will have many extra opportunities to perform more advanced concert repertoire. This group’s goal is to perform challenging concert band literature with a high standard. This group will perform at band concerts as well as the Concert Performance Assessment in the Spring. Students in Concert Band have the opportunity to audition for the Tiger Jazz Cats and Midstate Bands. Concert Band Students Grade students are more involved in extra curricular activities and are encouraged to participate in Solo and Ensemble.
Honor Band
Honor Band – Honor band is an advanced ensemble consisting of 7th and 8th grade band students that have displayed an exceptional level of musicianship and leadership in their regular band classes. Students that are selected to be in the honor band will have many extra opportunities to perform more advanced concert repertoire. This group’s goal is to perform an advanced concert band literature at a high standard. This group will perform at concerts and the Concert Performance Assessment in the Spring.
